The Goodwin Library is a public library that serves as an information center for the personal, cultural, and social growth for the community of Farmington. The Library maintains collections and implements programs that address the community’s changing informational and recreational needs for education and literacy. The collections, materials, and programs are offered in a variety of formats to ensure equitable access for all. The Library believes that free and open access to information and resources will establish the framework for an informed and involved community.
Winter Hours
From November 6 until the first week of April, our hours will look like this:
Monday: 10:00am–5:00pm
Tuesday: 1:00pm–7:00pm
Thursday: 11:00am–5:00pm
Friday: 10:00am–5:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am–2:00pm
Wednesday/Sunday: Closed
NEW! Radon Detector Available for Checkout
We now have a radon detector that can be borrowed!
Radon is a hazardous gas that often goes undetected in homes and buildings. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Radon is more common in New Hampshire buildings due to the soil composition.

Holiday Story Time – Saturday, 12/6 at 10:30am
Join us for our annual holiday story time!
We’ll read festive stories, sing carols, and enjoy cookies and cocoa.
Don’t forget to pick up a craft before you leave!
Box Swap – Monday, 12/8 at 1:00pm
Do you have empty boxes you hold on to because it’s “just a really nice box?” Bring them to our Box Swap!
Offload unused boxes that other people may be able to use. You might find a box that you can use, too!
If you’re in need of a box or two for Christmas presents, this is a great place to look!
Unused boxes will be used for children’s crafts or sustainably recycled.
All-Ages Ornament Crafts! Tuesday, 12/9 from 4:30pm-6:30pm
Join us to make home made ornaments!
All ages are welcome, from children to adults! Go from station to station to make different kinds of festive ornaments.
Supplies will be provided.
Tween Activity Group – Christmas Gift Crafts! Thursday, 12/11 at 3:00pm
Craft a gift for someone special!
All supplies will be provided.
For ages 10-14.
Caregiver Café – Friday, 12/12 at 1:00pm
Are you caring for a loved one with a chronic illness or disability?
Consider stopping by for Caregiver Café, a support group run by Cornerstone VNA. Enjoy light refreshments, meet other caregivers in the area, and learn about resources.
Elevator access is available.
Decorate a Holiday House! Saturday, 12/13 at 10:30am
Decorate a beautiful mini holiday house!
All supplies are provided.
This program is for ages 6+.
The Bookies – Tuesday, 12/16 at 6:00pm, In-person or on Zoom
The Bookies is Goodwin Library’s book club!
In December, we are reading and discussing the non-fiction book The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu.
We always have multiple copies of the book available for checkout—stop by to pick one up! New members are always welcome.

Story Trail!

The Story Trail is located at the McCarthy Trail, next to the Public Safety Complex at 160 NH-153.

We Have a Little Free Library!
Take a book, leave a book!
There are all kinds of books in our little free library! The top shelf has children’s books, the bottom shelf has adult books. Stop by and check it out – it’s right outside our front door!
Please keep in mind that the Little Free Library is not a book return for library books! The book return is behind the building.
Accessible Entrance
The library’s Accessible entrance is located at the rear of the library, off the bank parking lot.
The accessible entrance has a button control that opens and holds the door automatically.
The elevator is just inside the door to the left.
