Read books of your choosing to earn tickets to put towards a gift card raffle! This post is about the teen & adult program – the children’s program starts June 23!

From June 1st until the end of the program in early August, teens and adults can come to the upstairs desk to sign up for Summer Reading and get a goodie bag and free book! This year’s theme is “Unearth a Story!”
The Rundown
The Summer Reading Program is free for all ages! Children 13-17 can participate in the Teen Program. Ages 18+ can participate in the adult program. Teen & adult programs both start on June 1st.
The Children’s Summer Reading program (for ages 12 and younger) starts later in June. June 23 will be the official kick-off date, which will include Summer Reading sign-ups and an ice cream party!
Summer Reading prizes include free books and raffle tickets. Raffle tickets can be entered to win gift cards.
Here’s how the process works for the teen and adult programs:
- Starting Monday, June 1st, teens and adults can ask to sign up at the circulation desk on the adult floor. You’ll get a reusable bag containing activity sheets, a bingo card, a newsletter, and some bookmarks!
- The main way to earn raffle tickets is with bookmarks. Each bookmark has 5 hours on it. Cross one off for each hour that you read. Once you’ve crossed out all 5 hours, you can turn your bookmark in at the adult floor circulation desk to get a raffle ticket, a free book, and more bookmarks to complete!
- You can also earn raffle tickets by getting bingos on your bingo card. Each time you get a bingo, bring your card to the circulation desk. A staff member will initial your bingo card and give you one raffle ticket. You can keep your card and go for more bingos!
- Each time you get a raffle ticket, please be sure to write your name and phone number on the back of each one! You can enter your tickets into any raffle(s) you want.
- Raffle prizes get drawn at the end of the program in early August. Winners will be contacted by phone call.
Happy reading!
